Publisher removal

How to ask for content or a publisher to be removed from the DailyZine index when updating your feed is not enough.

Update your feed first

DailyZine is built from public syndication feeds and similar signals. If you want a listing changed or dropped because you removed or updated content on your site, update your site and feed (for example RSS or Atom) first. Most changes propagate when we next refresh from that feed.

Use this removal process when you need help after a feed update, when you do not publish a public feed, or when you have another valid reason to request removal from our index only.

What you can request

Depending on the situation, a verified request may lead us to:

  • Remove one or more article, episode, or other listings from our index
  • Stop indexing a particular site or feed going forward
  • Correct metadata that still does not match your feed after a reasonable refresh period

We do not delete content on your website. Removal affects how (or whether) that content appears on DailyZine.

Verification

All removal and correction requests are treated as unverified until we can establish that the requester controls the relevant source, site, or rights in the material concerned. We do this to protect publishers and readers from fraudulent or mistaken takedowns.

We may ask you to confirm control using one or more of the following (we will tell you what we need for your case):

  • Email from an address on the site's domain or a domain listed in the site's public contact details
  • A demonstrable change on the live site or feed that only someone with access could make
  • Other reasonable evidence of authority over the site, feed, or copyrighted material

Until verification is complete, we will not treat the request as authoritative. We may decline or pause requests we cannot verify.

How to submit a request

Send your request through our contact page. Include as much of the following as you can:

  • Your name and role (for example site owner, editor, authorised agent)
  • The site or feed URL you control
  • URLs of the listing(s) on DailyZine
  • URLs of the original publication(s) on your site
  • What you want removed or changed, and why
  • Whether you have already updated your feed and when

For general background on how we handle third-party content and links, see External links & third-party content and About DailyZine.

After you contact us

We review requests in good faith. Response times vary with volume and complexity. If we need more information to verify your request, we will reply asking for it; the request stays unverified until that is resolved.

If we approve removal, listings may disappear from search and feeds on DailyZine after our systems process the change. Cached or offline copies may take additional time to clear.
